Owlet Supports NICU Families with $75,000 Donation of Dream Sock Monitors to March of Dimes

Owlet’s donation will support NICUs across the Boston area, offering parents vital resources to monitor their babies and establish peace of mind at home

Owlet, Inc. (“Owlet” or the “Company”) (NYSE: OWLT), the pioneer of smart infant monitoring, has donated 250 of its FDA-cleared Dream Sock® smart baby monitors (value equivalent to $75,000) to March of Dimes’ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Care Package Kit program.

This marks the first year of partnership between Owlet and March of Dimes and comes at a pivotal time, as new data from the National Vital Statistics System reveals a 13% increase in U.S. NICU admissions in less than a decade. With a growing number of NICU parents in clear need of support, Dream Sock will be included in care kits alongside educational resources to help monitor their babies’ vitals during their transition home.

Following Owlet’s donation, March of Dimes Massachusetts will distribute nearly one-fifth of the total number of Dream Sock monitors to its NICU Family Support (NFS) site at Boston Medical Center, the largest safety net hospital in New England. Its NFS program supports its Level III 15-bed NICU with a full-time March of Dimes coordinator. The remainder of the monitors will go to other NICUs in the area including Tufts Medical Center, Mass General Hospital NICU, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Mount Auburn.

“Every baby deserves support—and so do their parents,” said Kurt Workman, Owlet CEO and Co-Founder. “As a father, I know the fear that comes with watching your child face health challenges--especially in the NICU. That fear doesn’t end at discharge. Through our partnership with March of Dimes, we’re helping families feel more confident and supported as they transition home.”

“Bringing Grayson home went so much more smoothly as we were able to monitor his pulse rate and oxygen from the comfort of our home right on our phones,” said NICU parent and Owlet user Marisa Capellan. “It is the best device we purchased for our son when he was a baby. We are grateful to our Dream Sock for making a very stressful time easier and allowing us to sleep easier after bringing our warrior son home.”

Hospital-Grade Accuracy for Peace of Mind

As the first and only FDA-cleared smart baby monitor of its kind to track key vitals like pulse rate and oxygen saturation in over 2 million babies globally, Dream Sock notifies parents of out-of-range levels, cementing its status as the #1 seller in its class. The Dream Sock fabric comfortably wraps around Baby’s foot, and its sensor sends live health readings directly to parents’ mobile devices via the connected Owlet Dream App. Owlet has one of the largest collections of consumer infant health and sleep data for users to track vitals against, and Dream Sock meets rigorous regulatory standards that ensures its hospital-grade accuracy and reliability for NICU parents.

“At March of Dimes, we are deeply grateful to partner with Owlet in support of families during some of their most vulnerable moments,” said Cindy Rahman, President and CEO of March of Dimes. “Through their support of March for Babies and generous donation of Dream Sock monitors for families in the NICU, Owlet is helping bring comfort, connection, and peace of mind to parents when they need it most. Together, we’re reaching families with resources and support that reflect the heart of both our missions - and we’re honored to work alongside them on behalf of moms and babies everywhere.”

Remembering Those Lost, And a Brighter Future Ahead

In addition to showing support through the Dream Sock donation, Owlet will be advocating on the ground this Saturday, May 17th at the March for Babies walk in Cleveland, OH. More than a series of walks, March for Babies is an annual tradition that raises funds dedicated to closing health equity gaps and putting an end to preventable maternal health risks. To help boost awareness and empower participants, Owlet will be sponsoring this year’s Honor Tent, handing out hundreds of Nursery of Hope seedlings to be planted in honor of little lives lost.

Through the Nursery of Hope program, one of the nationwide initiatives of Owlet Cares, Owlet has donated more than 1,300 seedlings to families across the country. Along with Nursery of Hope, Owlet has partnered with over 37 other like-minded non-profit organizations globally to give back, hitting $1.9 million in charitable and product donations to actualize its mission of reaching every baby.
