Delta Air Lines takes quarterly loss but predicts strong summer

Delta Air Lines Inc. posted a net loss in the first quarter, driven in part by a boost in salaries and other cost increases, according to an earnings report released Thursday. But the carrier said it expected improvement during the busy summer months.
