Homelessness profoundly impacts thousands of men, women, and children of Manatee County on a daily basis. Hope Pathways of Manatee County (HPMC), a collaboration of organizations in Manatee, aims to change that by providing targeted services to lift those impacted by homeless in an interconnected, systemic, compassionate fashion.
HPMC, an innovative initiative led by Align Consulting Teams, specializes in building partnerships between non-profits. At the heart of HPMC are the values of collaboration, coordination, and care, as well as implementation of the concept of calculated compassion. HPMC develops nonduplicative systems that fill in the gaps to supportive services with the goal of restoring lives affected by addiction, mental health, abuse, and other life-changing events. HPMC utilizes Unite Us, a state-of-the-art, specialized software tool that fosters organizational connectivity, accountability, and streamlined data analysis to better serve those in need in Manatee County.
"I have observed a lot of social programming in my lifetime, and this program is by far, without a doubt, the best approach to meeting the needs of those in the poverty cycle. HPMC is not a new agency on its own, rather it is a coalition of social agencies in Manatee County. HPMC focuses on gathering together all of the social agencies that have been working for years independently into one resource area," explained Dr. Eric Palmu, HPMC Advisory Board Member.
A kickoff event will be hosted this week by HPMC, in partnership with the following charter partners: Goodwill of Manasota, Nick Manassa Ministries, Jewish Family and Children's Service of the Suncoast, Hunger's End, Loving Hands, Bridge a Life, Help to Home, Carenet of Manasota, Feeding Empty Little Tummies, Prodigal Daughters, and Harbor58. The event will be sponsored in part by Mission Barbeque and held on Thursday, August 25, from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Kings Station in Downtown Bradenton.
Captain Rick Gerken of the Manatee County Sheriffs Office, HPMC Advisory Board, notes, "From a law enforcement perspective, it is refreshing to see agencies connected in a meaningful way through HPMC, coming together to work together to help lift people up in their time of need. As the President of Nick Manassa Ministries, it is exciting to be a part of a team of true professionals working together for the good of the community. The partnerships fostered by HPMC will have a positive impact for years to come."
In October 2022, HPMC will open the application process for organizations that are interested in partnering on this initiative by providing supportive services, direct services, or preventative services.
