ORLANDO, Fla. - April 4, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with ovarian cancer. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to ovarian cancer, such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
Ovarian cancer can be difficult to detect at first. Common symptoms include weight loss, pelvic area discomfort, abdominal bloating, and back pain. This type of cancer usually impacts older women and people with a family history of breast and ovarian cancer.[i] People living with ovarian cancer often require both surgery and chemotherapy.
"Given the difficulties in early detection, people living with ovarian cancer may not know they have it until it requires urgent treatment," said Mark P. McGreevy, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. "I'm thrilled to launch our Ovarian Cancer Copay Assistance Program and help hundreds of people living with this terrible disease get the treatment they need."
