ORLANDO, Fla. - March 28, 2022 - (Newswire.com)
The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with pancreatic cancer. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to pancreatic cancer, such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
The pancreas is a critical organ that assists in digestion and hormone production. Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect and rarely found early. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, loss of appetite, itchy skin, and yellowing of the skin.[1] Risk factors for pancreatic cancer are smoking and genetic history. Many people living with pancreatic cancer require surgery, chemotherapy, and other treatment.
"People facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis should not be burdened with figuring out how they will afford critical treatment," said Mark P. McGreevy, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. "Thanks to the generous support of our donors, TAF's new Pancreatic Cancer Copay Assistance Program will allow patients and their families to focus on care rather than cost."
