Company’s Laser Division introduces new series of compact, ultra-low noise lasers operating in C-Band providing higher power and enhanced stability.

OEwaves, Inc., a leader in innovative photonic products and solutions, today announced the OE4040 series of the Hi-Q® laser product line offering ultra-low noise lasers operating in the C-band. Utilizing OEwaves’ patented whispering gallery mode resonator (WGMR) technology and micro-optic assembly, the frequency noise of a standard diode laser is improved by up to 60 dB to provide an ultra-low noise, narrow linewidth laser source at a small size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).
This latest generation offers a higher optical power at the low noise performance previously provided by the OE4023, OE4028, and OE4030 series lasers. OE4040 series lasers deliver greater than 20 mW at sub-Hz linewidth and a relative intensity noise (RIN) better than -155 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset. Packaging and integrated control electronics have been updated to improve laser stability and robustness in laboratory and non-laboratory environments or for integration into larger systems.
These lasers house a proprietary laser driver and controller to deliver ease-of-use in a versatile, small form-factor package. OEwaves’ provided control software enables user friendly operation via a PC and USB interface. The OE4040 Hi-Q® laser is available in VLN, ULN, or XLN configurations offering 7 Hz, 3 Hz, or <1 Hz instantaneous Lorentzian linewidth, respectively, at any target wavelength between 1530-1565 nm. Available options include increased output optical power, extended frequency tuning range, fast frequency tunability, and alternate communication interfaces, among other customizable features.
The OE4040 series of lasers deliver the ultra-low phase/frequency noise and RIN critical in bleeding edge applications such as next generation 5G & 6G optical communications, metrology and spectroscopy, microwave photonics, quantum computing and technologies, and optical sensing.
