NORCROSS, Ga. - March 7, 2025 - PRLog -- Workplace safety ideas and firsthand views of solutions in action will be featured at the Applied Ergonomics Conference March 17-20, 2025, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The conference is presented by the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers and Applied Ergonomics Society.
Top researchers and practitioners from the ergo world will take part in four days of presentations, speakers, networking events, industry tours and the world renowned Ergo CupĀ® competition. An exhibit hall will feature displays of products and services from dozens of organizations.
The keynote speakers will include Mike Courtney, founder of Aperio Insights, and Karl Zelik, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
"Due to the growing access to technologies like AI and robotics, we are dramatically cutting the lag time between dreams and reality. The hard part becomes not figuring out how to build the idea but which ideas deserve to be built," Courtney said. "When we are able to convince other stakeholders to focus efforts and resources on a problem worth solving, almost nothing is impossible."
"I will share tips on how to approach new innovations, how to avoid snake oil, gimmicks and overhyped gadgets, and how to home in on new capabilities and solutions that sustainably impact health and well-being within workplaces and throughout society," Zelik said. "I had a wonderful time at last year's Applied Ergonomics Conference, and am super excited to reconnect with and learn from all the deep expertise and rich experiences that pervade this community."
The Ergo CupĀ® competition, sponsored by The Ergonomics Center of North Carolina and Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at N.C. State University, features dozens of solutions developed by front-line workers to improve safety and efficiency.
"I think the best part of this conference is just the networking. Meeting people and learning a lot of new things," Rashonda Williams, an ergonomist with General Motors, said in a Problem Solved podcast interview at the 2024 conference.
