First World Athletics Tour meet hosted by a college or university being held on Mondo track surface

By: PRLog

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jan. 26, 2024 - PRLog -- The first World Athletics Tour meet—indoor or outdoor—hosted by a college or university will take place on a Mondo track surface.

The University of Louisville's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational is being held today and tomorrow at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The facility, designed to host USATF, NCAA and other major track and field competitions, features Mondo's hydraulic banked track with its Super X 720 track surface.

Sponsored by Mondo, the Bronze-level competition on the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Tour is only one of four World Athletics indoor meets in the United States this year, and it's the only WA tour meet hosted by a university. Livestream the competition here.

Founded in 2016, the World Athletics Tour was created as a series of indoor track and field meets designed to raise the profile of the sport and allow for high-level competitions outside of world championship events.
