Club Presse du LFK has bolstered efforts, providing a digital hub for news, interviews, and creative content, connecting students with a global audience through multimedia storytelling.
Club Presse du LFK, the student-led media platform at Lycee Francais du Koweit, is expanding its digital presence with a growing collection of news reports, interviews, and creative content. Since its launch in October 2022, the platform has produced 148 videos, attracted nearly 300 YouTube subscribers, and established an active presence on Instagram and TikTok. As the only French media platform in Kuwait, Club Presse du LFK serves as a unique voice for the francophone community while fostering an international exchange of ideas.
--“Every student has a story, and our goal is to move beyond textbooks and share these stories with a wider audience,” said a club spokesperson. The representative, a school official, explained that the platform offers students practical experience in communication and media production while reporting on issues relevant to their community. The club also emphasizes teamwork, with students collaborating across different roles to produce high-quality content that reflects their shared perspectives and diverse backgrounds.
The platform covers a broad range of topics, including school events, academic projects, and extracurricular activities. Recent projects include interviews with school administrators, such as Proviseur Monsieur Gautier, and a documentary-style feature on the MUN Bilbao 2025 film project. The series "Genie en herbe," known for its interactive format, has also drawn significant attention.
“Each interview and broadcast serves as a lesson in journalism fundamentals,” said the spokesperson. “Students learn the importance of preparation, curiosity, and accuracy when crafting a story.” The club goes beyond the classroom by exploring subjects with broader cultural significance. One recent project examined French gastronomy, a tradition recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage. The spokesperson said the content highlights the intersection of French traditions and the school's international environment while demonstrating the adaptability of digital media.
Club Presse du LFK captures audience beyond Kuwait. Its videos and social media content have attracted viewers from other countries, offering an inside look at life within a French international school. The platform also addresses global issues, as seen in its production of “Sensibilisons au réchauffement climatique,” which aimed to spark reflection on climate change and environmental responsibility.
“Journalism isn't just about facts; it's about understanding perspectives and presenting information responsibly,” said the club's representative. Club Presse du LFK works with media clubs from schools abroad, giving students opportunities to connect with peers from different backgrounds. These collaborations, according to the team, help build cross-cultural understanding while strengthening communication skills. The club’s cosmopolitan approach encourages students to engage with diverse viewpoints and develop a global mindset, preparing them for future roles in international settings.
Looking ahead, the club plans to broaden its content portfolio by featuring more international events, student-led initiatives, and educational projects that resonate with audiences locally and abroad. “We want to produce content that is both informative and relatable,” said the spokesperson. “Our platform allows students to practice journalism in a real-world context.”
Club Presse du LFK operates as an extracurricular activity for students in grades 9 through 12. Through hands-on projects, students gain experience in media literacy, critical thinking, and content creation. The club produces a steady stream of videos, interviews, and podcasts that document academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities at the school.
The platform's work has received positive feedback from students, parents, and the broader community. With a consistent publishing schedule and an engaged social media following, Club Presse du LFK continues to provide a space for young voices to share their experiences and perspectives.
