Winners Announced for the WBDS Awards 2024/25 The World Brand Design Society (WBDS)

The World Brand Design Society (WBDS) is proud to announce the winners of the WBDS Awards 2024/25, celebrating excellence in corporate and consumer brand design. The awards honor outstanding creativity across four professional sectors: Agency, In-House, Creative (Individual), and Student. This year’s winners exemplify innovation, craftsmanship, and impactful storytelling in brand design.

The WBDS Agency Design Awards continue to set the benchmark for creative excellence. KIND (Norway) has once again secured the prestigious title of Agency of the Year for the fifth consecutive time, with an impressive portfolio that earned 35 awards. Their Gold-winning works, such as Gama Packaging Design and One Ocean Rum Whisky Photography, showcase their unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Best Agency Work of the Year was awarded to Onfire Design for their Salash Delicatessen brand refresh, which masterfully blends Serbian heritage with contemporary aesthetics. Looking ahead, the WBDS Awards will introduce an enhanced Agency of the Year selection process for 2025/26, ensuring an even more dynamic and competitive recognition system.

  • Agency Black, Gold & 1st Place – Onfire – Salash Delicatessen

  • Agency Gold – Kind – Gama Spirit

Recognizing the growing influence of internal creative teams, the WBDS In-House Design Awards honored Douglas Laing & Co as In-House Design Team of the Year. The UK-based independent distillery led both the Best In-House Design Ranking and Global In-House Design Ranking, securing six awards.

Their Rock Island limited-edition whisky packaging, inspired by Día de los Muertos, was named Best In-House Work of the Year. This striking design merges Mexican vibrancy with Scottish maritime heritage through sugar skull illustrations, gold embellishments, and intricate storytelling.

The WBDS Creative Design Awards spotlighted individual excellence, with Charmaine Choi winning Creative of the Year for her exceptional work on Juliette, Artisanal Peach Liqueur and Flecha Azul Tequila. Her designs secured two Black Awards and two Golds, reinforcing her status as a leader in luxury branding.

Best Creative Work of the Year was awarded to Juliette, a design characterized by its bold red hues, refined typography, and gold detailing that exude elegance and craftsmanship. Second place went to Widakk Design Studio for the Dandelion Chocolate Advent Calendar, while third place was secured by Flecha Azul Tequila, another masterpiece by Charmaine Choi.

The WBDS Student Design Awards continue to celebrate emerging talent, with San Diego City College earning the title of Design Education Institution of the Year for the third consecutive time, now leading the Global Design Education Ranking.

The WBDS Design Students of the Year title was awarded to a talented group from FH Salzburg, Austria for their innovative project PRIO: Redefining Priorities with Data-Driven Design. Their work secured First Place and a £2,000 Scholarship, emphasizing WBDS’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of creative leaders. Additional scholarships were awarded for Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Place, reinforcing WBDS’s support for student designers worldwide.

  • Student Black, Gold & 1st Place Winners – WBDS Scholarship £2,000 – PRIO – Bastian Gasser, Florian Weger, Timo Asch, Johannes Handlechner, Tanja Nicole Gruber, and Jan Perné
