Canadian singer-songwriter Dave Miles is kicking off 2025 with a powerful one-two punch of new music that underscores his signature storytelling style. We are excited to share the release of his second single of the year, Dichotomy, a vibrant, genre-bending track that explores the complex dualities of human nature. This follows the launch of Dead A Long Time, which debuted earlier this year on January 3. These singles follow up on the launch of Dave’s career in 2024 with the release of his debut studio single, Silver Lake.
Dichotomy showcases Miles’ knack for crafting vivid, relatable narratives with a dose of wit. The song paints a portrait of an unpredictable, charismatic character who embodies contradiction at every turn. Lines like “She’ll wash your clothes, toss them in the street” and “Meet your folks charming as can be, at home she’ll slap your face” highlight Miles’ ability to mix humor and introspection in a way that feels fresh and genuine. Dead A Long Time celebrates the fast-paced life of a sales dealmaker who lives by the mantra, “Life is short, you’re dead a long time.” The track is sure to resonate with anyone striving to make the most of their time, balancing ambition and self-reflection.
Both singles are produced by EMAC Studios alongside Moe Berg, maintaining the rich, textured sound that has become synonymous with Miles’s work. Together, they set the stage for a groundbreaking year as he continues to evolve as an artist and connect with fans through authentic and compelling music. Listen to these new singles today on all digital streaming platforms and experience the journey of contrasts and connections only Dave Miles can deliver.

ABOUT
Originally hailing from Canada, Dave Miles is a former professional hockey player who once skated with the Detroit Red Wings organization, playing for teams like Kalamazoo and several other minor league affiliates. Transitioning from the rink to the boardroom, Dave later carved out a successful career as a senior executive in the hospitality and service industry. He currently resides in Clearwater, FL, with his two children, Mackenzie and Jack. Dave’s foray into music began six years ago, spurred by a request from a former teammate. This teammate, recalling Dave’s vocal talents from their jamming sessions during their hockey days, asked him to lend his voice to a song written in honor of his father, Stormin Norman, a highly decorated WWII hero. Despite not playing an instrument, Dave has found a supportive team at EMAC Studios in London to help bring his musical visions to life. Among his favorite works are “Silver Lake,” a song that evokes the cherished memories of his family’s cottage, owned since 1939, and “Mimosa Sunday’s,” a track that quickly gained favor with his producer and session players for its catchy and engaging vibe.
