Urgent Financial Assistance Program Provides Stability for Rosa Washington and Her Daughter

North Palm Beach, FL - When life threw unimaginable hardships at Rosa Washington, a U.S. Army veteran and single mother, the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF) stepped in to help her reclaim stability. After losing both her father and grandmother, Rosa and her young daughter were left homeless when Hurricane Helene destroyed their home. Facing an uncertain future, Rosa turned to WVRF’s Urgent Financial Assistance Program, which provided $5,000 to help them secure stable housing and avoid homelessness.

"WVRF gave me hope when I thought all was lost. After Hurricane Helene took my home and possessions, they stepped in and placed me and my daughter in a safe, stable home. I’m living proof that even when life feels impossible, there’s hope, love, and second chances with WVRF," said Rosa Washington, US Army Disabled Veteran.

The funds enabled Rosa to secure permanent housing, ensuring her daughter had the stability and security every child deserves. More than just financial relief, WVRF’s support allowed Rosa to focus on rebuilding her life and creating a brighter future for her family.

Nick Cannon, spokesperson for Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, emphasized the importance of community support for veterans in crisis. “Rosa’s story is a powerful reminder of why our mission matters. No veteran should ever face homelessness, and thanks to our generous donors and supporters, we are able to step in and provide assistance when it’s needed most. We are honored to be part of her journey toward a new beginning.”

WVRF’s Urgent Financial Assistance Program continues to provide critical aid to veteran families across Florida, ensuring that no service member is left behind in times of crisis. The organization encourages individuals and businesses to support their mission by donating or volunteering to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who served.
