D.T. Scarola was born in New Jersey and raised in the blue-collar town of Cliffside Park. After graduating from Cliffside Park High School in 1987, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving from 1987 to 1991 with assignments at Camp Pendleton in California and Camp Kiner in Okinawa, Japan. Following his military service during the Gulf War, Scarola embarked on a career with Fujifilm, where he cultivated a passion for photography and writing.
His journey as an author began with children’s books that blended education with entertainment, but he soon expanded into adult fiction. His first novella, Jesus Take My Wheels, has been met with critical acclaim, with its powerful themes of perseverance and redemption striking a chord with readers. Scarola remains dedicated to crafting compelling narratives that entertain, educate, and inspire audiences of all ages.
