For the seventh year in a row, Charles Schwab Bank has received the highest ranking in customer satisfaction among checking providers in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Direct Banking Satisfaction Study. For the first time, Charles Schwab Bank also ranked #1 in customer satisfaction among direct bank savings account providers.
Charles Schwab Bank scored highest in the following dimensions of customer satisfaction within the checking segment:
- Level of trust with bank keeping my checking account safe and secure
- Customer service for my checking account
- Ease of moving money in and out of my checking account
- Managing my checking account through the website
- Managing my checking account through the mobile app

The U.S. Direct Banking Satisfaction Study, now in its ninth year, measures overall satisfaction with direct bank and neobank checking and/or savings/money market products. The study defines direct banks as online/branchless institutions with federal banking charters with the Federal Reserve Board, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as their primary regulator. It is based on responses from 9,391 direct bank customers and was fielded from December 2024 through March 2025.
