Village Caregiving’s Danielle Gustin Named Veteran VIP in McKnight’s Women of Distinction Awards

Village Caregiving (VCG), a mission-driven, privately-owned home care agency in the United States, today announced that its Chief Nursing Officer Danielle Gustin has been recognized as a Veteran VIP in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction awards.

The annual award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to the senior living, skilled nursing or home care fields, and this year, 17 women were announced as the fourth class of the program. Veteran VIPs are women who have more than 15 years of experience in the industry, inspiring others and having a powerful effect on the lives of the individuals they serve. Nominations were judged by an external panel of industry experts, and all winners will be honored at an in-person celebration on May 13 in Chicago.

“While I’m grateful to receive this recognition, it is more than an individual award,” stated Danielle. “It reflects the incredible work of everyone at Village Caregiving, and it is a privilege to share this honor with them and this year’s class for their extraordinary impact in our field.”

At VCG, Danielle is responsible for maintaining the high quality and safety standards for in-home care services for all of its clients, including seniors, veterans and their families. Her role ranges from creating innovative training solutions and supporting team members in their professional growth to advocating for the well-being of clients and their families. She joined VCG in 2021 as an RN for the Ashland, KY location, focusing on client assessments and compliance operations across the company’s Kentucky offices. After six months, she joined the compliance team where she developed an internal auditing system to ensure employee compliance across states. By 2022, Danielle was promoted to CNO, expanding VCG’s clinical team from seven to 60 nurses.

“With her extensive nursing background, Danielle brings both her medical expertise and training, as well as her invaluable perspective to our leadership team,” said Jeff Stevens, VCG co-founder and CEO. “Beyond her professional qualifications, Danielle is an extraordinary person. She is a true believer in our mission, dedicated to helping our caregivers be their best and helping them deliver the best care to our clients.”

VCG serves more than 5,500 seniors and veterans currently, offering affordable, compassionate support and assistance with daily needs, such as help with personal hygiene, light housework, meal prep and companionship.
