A discussion on the importance of understanding the neurobiology of eating disorders for effective treatment and recovery
The Emily Program, a national leader in eating disorder specialty care and behavioral health services, today announced its upcoming Columbus Eating Disorder Professionals Roundtable event, “Eating Disorders and the Brain: An Experiential Psychoeducation Seminar.” This complimentary seminar for eating disorder and mental health professionals will be held in person on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at The Emily Program Columbus Center, located at 8001 Ravines Edge Court in Columbus.
Local care providers Megan Merrells, MS, RD, LD, and Jenny Beck, LPPC-S, will lead the seminar, providing participants with insights into the emerging neurobiological research of eating disorders. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the multidimensional nature, development, and maintenance of these illnesses, as well as how this knowledge can inform techniques to support recovery.
“Understanding the neurobiology behind eating disorders is crucial for developing effective treatment strategies,” said Jenny Beck, Columbus Ohio Site Director. “We are committed to empowering professionals of all fields with the knowledge they need to support on the path to recovery.”
Participants will have the opportunity to earn 1.0 complimentary APA CE credits. This educational opportunity is made possible through the financial support of The Emily Program Foundation.
“By offering free continuing education to eating disorder professionals and the public, we are championing mental health and ensuring professionals have access to the latest research and best practices in the field,” said Sarah Bergen, Ohio Regional Medical Director.
