AHF Stands Against Hate in Kingdom Day Parade

AIDS Healthcare Foundation recently received the MLK, Jr. Social Justice Award, The King Center’s highest recognition for an organization leading work in the social justice arena

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world’s largest HIV/AIDS healthcare nonprofit, will be participating in the 40th annual Kingdom Day Parade, rescheduled for Monday, February 17th, with its Stand Against Hate float. The float speaks to AHF’s longstanding commitment to social justice and advocacy, declares “Racism is a Public Health Issue,” and fits in with this year’s parade theme: Peace and Unity, Let it Start with Us.

Last month, AHF proudly accepted the MLK, Jr. Social Justice Award in Atlanta, GA. The award is The King Center’s highest recognition for an organization leading work in the social justice arena.

More than 50 AHF volunteers and members of AHF’s Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC) affinity group will march and ride the float in the parade, and the Thunderbolt Drumline as well as a brass band will accompany the contingent. This is AHF’s 10th year taking part in the Los Angeles Kingdom Day Parade.
