Increasing Offerings for All Employees, Including Early Careerists
Reliance Matrix, a technology-driven employee benefits and absence management company, has expanded its Critical Illness insurance benefits with coverages that will be attractive to a broader employee base, including individuals early in their careers. The new plan is more inclusive, giving employers a powerful way to support all employees facing serious health conditions, as well as those taking proactive measures to prevent disease.
New coverages include 250-plus Infectious Diseases, Sepsis, Mammography Screening, Mental Health Support, Infertility Treatment, Childhood Conditions such as Autism, Congenital Heart Disease and Developmental Delays, TIA, as well as Second Opinions to ensure employees have a thorough grasp of their health conditions.
Advancements in medicine and technology allow more and more Americans to survive cancer, stroke, heart disease, and other critical illnesses every year. While second chances at life are always positive, these situations can present significant financial challenges. Reliance Matrix’s Critical Illness Insurance fills gaps in coverage, a benefit that helps drive employee loyalty and retention.
“Critical Illness Insurance supports employees when they are most vulnerable, protecting against lost income, out- of-pocket medical expenses, and all the little things that add up when they or their loved one is battling a major disease or serious medical condition,” said Matt Ennis, Director of Product Strategy & Marketing at Reliance Matrix. “This new plan is broader, more flexible, and inclusive to appeal to younger populations and ethnic groups where certain medical issues are more prevalent.”
The statistics are staggering.
- 5,200 Americans are diagnosed with cancer every day.1
- 1 in 36 children in the U.S. have autism.2
- Every 40 seconds an American will have a heart attack.3
- About 1 in 5 (19%) married American women aged 15 to 49 years with no prior births are unable to get pregnant after one year of trying (infertility).4
- 21% of adults are experiencing a mental illness. Equivalent to over 50 million Americans.5
“Diagnoses of serious illness and medical conditions can cause families a great deal of emotional stress and financial burden. Offering supplemental health benefits, such as our Critical Illness plan, allows employers to show employees how much they are valued — without incurring a direct cost,” added Ennis.
Reliance Matrix’s Critical Illness insurance includes coverages from $5,000 to $50,000 for employees and their families, providing a fixed, lump-sum benefit upon diagnosis.
“Employees can opt-in for coverage at the levels they feel are right for their families through convenient payroll deductions,” concluded Ennis, “and because the coverage is awarded as a lump sum, employees have the flexibility and freedom to use the money in ways that best serve their families’ health and wellness overall.”
