Ongoing 5G transition, trends in mobility and messaging in focus at industry event in Bangkok
Syniverse, the world's most connected company®, will discuss the next phases of the 5G network rollout, the ongoing 2G/3G network retirements, and other trends in mobility, messaging, and roaming as it hosts 2024 Acceleration Exchange, its Asia-Pacific (APAC) Users' Group conference, at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld in Bangkok on Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9.
180 representatives from 40 mobile network operators, global and regional enterprises, and industry organizations such as the GSMA and Kaleido Intelligence will connect and strategize with fellow attendees through presentations, interactive workshops, and social events.
"We must keep customers seamlessly connected during the transition to 5G technology while helping operators uncover new ways to generate revenue," said Paul Hodges, Syniverse's Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific. "By bringing so many trusted partners together under one roof, we're facilitating conversations that will fundamentally shape the future of connectivity throughout the APAC region and beyond."
All sessions will be led by Syniverse's team of experts or by executives from AT&T, AIS, True, KDDI, Singtel, Smartone, Bridge Mobile, IT&E, Cellcard, UNN, One NZ, iFree Group, Twilio, and other members of its global community.
Following Hodges' welcoming remarks on May 8, David Turkington, Head of Technology for the GSMA Asia Pacific, will kick off the conference with his keynote address, "The 5G Ecosystem: The Promises and Pitfalls of a Connected World." Later, attendees will take part in a session on "Retaining Critical Revenue Streams Through 2G/3G Network Sunset," followed by a panel discussion, "Preparing for 2G/3G Network Sunset in Asia Pacific and Other VoLTE Roaming Strategies." The day will conclude with concurrent sessions on mobility solutions and messaging solutions.
Participants will dig deeper into the future of 5G on May 9 with a session titled "5G Standalone Roaming Trials," followed by a 50-minute panel discussion, "5G Messaging: Meeting the Demands of Tomorrow," and a presentation by ITU on "5G Rollout in Asia and the Pacific: Key Enablers Based on Data Analysis and Experience Across the Region."
In addition, Kaleido Intelligence will present two sessions, "Travel Trends and Roaming Predictions for 2024" and "Emerging Trends: BCE’s Impact on Future Charging and Clearing Services" on May 8, and Turkington will moderate a panel discussion, "GSMA Insights — Monetizing Mobile Networks," on May 9.
