Workspace Property Trust Expands Senior Leadership Team

Stephan K. Pahides Hired as Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Preeminent Suburban Landlord for Fortune 1000 Companies Nationwide

Workspace Property Trust (Workspace), the nation's preeminent suburban office property owner, announced today the expansion of their senior leadership team with the hire of Stephan K. Pahides as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. This leadership addition comes in the wake of its transformational $1.132 billion transaction in August 2022, where Workspace acquired 53 class A suburban office properties throughout the country. Following that acquisition, the company became the leading suburban landlord for the Fortune 1000 with 18 million square feet across 200 buildings in 22 major metropolitan markets across the US.

In a joint statement, Workspace’s Thomas A. Rizk, Co-Founder and CEO, and Roger Thomas, Co-Founder and President, said, “Workspace is at a pivotal phase in our development, and we are excited to welcome Steve to our leadership team. Steve has been a long-time trusted advisor. He has served as outside counsel to Workspace since our inception, shepherding us through many of our formative transactions and growth. Steve brings significant expertise across all areas of real estate. He will play an important role as we expand our footprint into other markets across the country with our tenant-focused, lifestyle-oriented brand dedicated to supporting the ever-evolving needs of our corporate tenant partners.”

“Having had the opportunity to partner with Tom and Roger over the years, I’m thrilled to join them and the Workspace team in this newly created role. Workspace has a clear market position: a strong footprint in key markets with dozens of blue-chip corporations, a compelling offering as a leading suburban landlord, and clearly defined growth trajectory. I look forward to the future and what we can accomplish,” said Stephan K. Pahides, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Workspace.

Mr. Pahides joins Workspace after serving nearly 25 years as a Partner at McCausland Keen + Buckman (MKB), a law firm based in Devon, Pennsylvania where he counseled numerous real estate developers, lenders, owners, and users in the acquisition, development, financing and leasing of office, industrial, medical, senior living, multi-family, and retail projects. During his tenure at MKB, Mr. Pahides served as outside counsel for Workspace and was involved in many of Workspace’s major acquisitions, lease transactions, financings and provided counsel for general real estate matters.

Mr. Pahides received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a B.A. from Drew University, magna cum laude where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
