Item
8.01 Other Events.
On
March
1, 2007, City Holding Company (“the Company”) issued a news release, attached as
Exhibit 99, announcing the declaration of a $0.31 per common share cash dividend
for shareholders of record as of April 15, 2007, payable on April 30, 2007.
The
dividend represents a 10% increase from the $0.28 per share cash dividend paid
in the first quarter of 2007 and follows a 12% increase in the cash dividend,
from $0.25 per common share to $0.28 per common share, approved by the board
in
March 2006. Furnished as Exhibit 99 and incorporated herein by reference is
the
news release issued by the Company announcing its increase in dividends payable
to common shareholders.
