São Paulo, January 31, 2006 – GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazil’s low cost, low fare airline, has received Air Transport World’s (ATW) – Market Leadership Award for 2006. The award recognizes GOL’s success in significantly impacting air travel in Brazil with its low cost, low fare business model while also maintaining strong operational performance and delivering solid financial results. ATW is one of the leading monthly magazine serving the airline and commercial aircraft manufacturing industries
The Market Leadership Award is presented to airlines which have significantly changed the market in which they operate while remaining profitable – by either creating a new service that brings new customers to the airline industry or entering markets and drawing business away from other carriers. Winners must have a superior safety record.
