On December 10, 2015, Peter G. Schultz, Ph.D., notified the Board of Directors of Ardelyx, Inc. (the “Company”) of his decision to resign from the Board and the Compensation Committee of the Board, effective immediately, due to outside obligations. Dr. Schultz was recently appointed to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Scripps Research Institute. Dr. Schultz’s resignation is not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices.
