NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES
Section 198 - Companies Act 1985
The Company received notification on 19 May 2006 that Barclays PLC, had a
notifiable interest as at 28 March 2006 in 369,198,062 ordinary shares of
US$0.50 each in HSBC Holdings plc, representing approximately 3.25% of the
ordinary shares in issue.
