NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. - March 8, 2022 - PRLog -- The essay traces the beginning of chat lines to the modern $1-billlion dollar industry it is today.
According to the article, chat line companies and the telephone companies (which transport phone calls to and from chat line services) grossed over $1-billion dollars in chat line revenue in 2021
Chat Lines started in San Francisco in 1981 and have grown steadily ever since. The essay reveals that in the 1990's thru 2005 all of the large telephone companies in the US were getting up to 60% of the revenue generated by chat lines in partnership/revenue sharing agreements.
The essay also reveals that the chat line business today is controlled by a handful of large technology companies and is no longer run as a "mom and pop" operation.
