In her book, Barriffe lovingly describes the light of the heavenly body as the hope God has given to His people. The book revolves around her emotionally-stirring tale of finding God as she moves through life's journey. She considers God's words as her guide and strength in overcoming obstacles. Using strong metaphors inspired by the moon, Barriffe's words could be a great source of encouragement for someone who currently treads a path of painful changes.

“My Moon, My Light” is an ideal book for those who have seemingly lose their grip on life. It acknowledges the vast possibilities God can make to a person's life, including the unknown future. These possibilities come with man's freedom to choose and act upon their choice. Despite this multitude of choices, Barriffe emphasizes the importance of choosing God's ways.

Barriffe's work will make one believe that God is ever-present in His creations and that each man's life is a precious gift. She said, “I believe being God-centered would make a great impact and a better understanding of God's gift of a lengthy life.”
