"Chevron sponsors Delo TRC as a way not only to challenge and inspire our youth but give them the opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills, helping them develop into tomorrow's leaders," states Jason Gerig, Americas Commercial Sector, Chevron Lubricants. "Supporting STEM education and investing in tomorrow's workforce is a priority for Chevron. In addition to technical skills that can serve them in paths of study like Ag Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering, TRC participants must develop their prowess in project management, written and verbal communication, teamwork, and even computer literacy - all sought-after skills in a variety of careers." He adds, "Every year, we are impressed by the young men and women who participate in our program. Their dedication, combined with the support system of advisors, mentors, teachers, family, friends, and the community, is a source of inspiration for all of us."
All 2021 entrants for the Delo Tractor Restoration Competition were required to submit a detailed Restoration Report which documents the entire restoration process, from mechanical overhauls of the engine, transmission, auxiliary and ancillary systems, to the external appearance of the tractors. Judges review these reports, along with entrant videos, to ultimately select the 12 competition finalists.
