Buffalo Label Helps Businesses Make a Lasting First Impression with Professional Product Labels

By: Get News

What’s the first thing people notice when they see your product? The first thing they see is your product’s label. You already know what they say about first impressions and it’s true. If people aren’t blown away by the professionalism of your label, they’ll move onto the next product. That’s where people like Buffalo Label come in and give you a helping hand to make sure your labels look as good as possible.

People judge products by their packaging

Since you were a child, you were told not to judge a book by its cover, but that doesn’t stop you from doing just that. Every day, you look at products and judge what’s inside them based on the label. Think back to the last new product that you found on a store shelf and ask yourself how you determined to buy it or not.

It doesn’t matter how great your product is; if your label isn’t up to par, you’re going to have a difficult time selling it. If you’re a new product on the market, your label is even more important. You’d buy a product that you’re familiar with even if the label wasn’t great, but if the product is new, you’ll pass it in a heartbeat if the label is anything other than stellar.

Your product needs to stand out from the crowd

The next time you’re at the store, walk down an aisle where there are a lot of the same type of products. Think coffee, peanut butter, or shampoo. The two things you first notice are the shape of the package and its product. You scan the shelf to see if you can find what you’re looking for. The only time your eyes don’t glance over products is if you see a label that’s totally unfamiliar to you.

If your product is something that people reach for, you need to make them want to reach for it. Unless you’re in a market that’s totally not saturated, the customer already has plenty of choices to choose from. You’re vying for attention and it’s difficult to get when you’re dealing with products that people might be very loyal to.

Designing labels that demand attention

The last thing we’re going to touch on is how to design your labels. The minimalist approach works best. You don’t want a label that’s too busy or you’ll end up confusing the shopper. What you’re aiming for is a label that says exactly what you want it to. The consumer must know what the product is and that’s it.

What you’re trying to do here is use colors that pop and try to stick to a solid background. You want to attract the eye but not distract from the descriptive text that you’re using. A good rule of thumb is to make sure that people can fully understand what your product is about at first glance. If they need to spend more than a few seconds figuring out what your product is, you probably lost the sale.

Labels often need to be revamped every now and then

Product labels are a lot like clothes in the sense that trends come and go. You shouldn’t think just because your label is hot now, that it will be five or ten years from now. It’s important that you pay attention to the product labels in your industry and if you see several making changes, it’s probably a good idea to look over your current label and give it some improvements.
