Mercer Advisors Launches National Women & Wealth Practice

Executive Managing Partner Laura Combs to lead firm’s efforts to deepen its industry-leading commitment to championing Economic Freedom™ and fiduciary excellence for women

Mercer Global Advisors, Inc. (“Mercer Advisors”), a leading Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), today introduced its national Women & Wealth practice, a dedicated group of professionals aligned around a firmwide commitment to support and advance women through holistic financial planning, wealth building and meaningful community engagement. Led by Executive Managing Partner and Head of Women & Wealth, Laura Combs, the Women & Wealth practice is designed to create the best possible context for women to experience economic freedom and for women fiduciary professionals to do the best work of their careers.

By 2030, women in the U.S. are projected to control $34 trillion in assets, driven by rising earning power, entrepreneurship and significant interspousal and intergenerational wealth transfers. The Women & Wealth practice further embeds women-centered financial planning and career advancement into Mercer Advisors’ business priorities, leadership structure and client experience. The practice deepens expertise in the areas that matter most to women—longevity planning, career transitions, caregiving, business ownership and multigenerational wealth—delivered through the firm’s integrated suite of family office services, including institutional-grade investment management, financial planning, estate and tax planning.

“When we talk about women and wealth, we’re talking about the lived reality of the households our teams serve every day. Meeting women’s needs—building trust, engaging them meaningfully, and sustaining those relationships—is not just sound advice, it’s a business imperative,” said Combs. “I’m grateful to my partners at Mercer Advisors for entrusting me with this opportunity as we are committed to being the firm best positioned to serve women with excellence.”

Since joining Mercer Advisors in 2008, Combs has led the growth efforts for several of the firm’s fastest-growing regions, including the Colorado market where its headquarters is based, and she helped build the Wealth Path offering to extend family office services to more families. In her most recent role, she was responsible for the firm’s North division, which included business between Illinois and Idaho. In addition, she was instrumental in launching InvestHERs, a firmwide program and community dedicated to advancing women as both investors and professionals in financial services. Launched in 2018, InvestHERs offers educational and professional development opportunities, mentorship, affinity groups, and community support to foster career growth. The initiative also delivers client-focused programming tailored to women’s financial planning needs, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to cultivating opportunity, elevating women’s voices, and creating pathways for long-term success.

Nearly 50% of Mercer Advisors’ client-facing team members are women—well above the industry average—and women represent 40% of the executive team. These figures highlight the depth of leadership and influence fueling innovation and client excellence across the firm. Senior leaders, alongside Combs, include:

“Mercer Advisors has long been at the forefront of women and wealth, thanks to leaders like Laura, our CEO Dave Welling, and many others. Establishing a Women & Wealth practice represents our commitment to permanently invest in the advisory infrastructure required to continue to differentiate ourselves and to build a professional home for fiduciary advisors who want to focus on women,” said Daniel Gourvitch, President at Mercer Advisors. “Mercer Advisors is home to some of the industry’s leading female professionals. They are shaping a culture that reflects today’s wealth demographic, establishing our firm as a premier destination for female advisors to help amplify their impact and grow their legacy.”
