Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA) Launches Agronomic Consulting Services for Regenerative Farmers; Alexandre Family Farm Among Its First Customers

Regenerative agriculture pioneer Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA) today launched “Groundwork: AEA Agronomic Consulting,” customized packages for farmers of all backgrounds who want to transition to regenerative farming. Among AEA’s first customers is Alexandre Family Farm, America’s first certified regenerative farm producing grass-pastured organic A2/A2.

AEA’s Groundwork offers strategic, customized plans and hands-on support for creating resilient farm systems. The new service seeks to address significant knowledge and mentorship gaps that often exist among current and aspiring regenerative growers. Since 2006, AEA has partnered with over 10,000 growers across more than four million acres, helping them implement regenerative growing systems in challenging environments – with the goal of decreasing or eliminating inputs while increasing yields and profitability.

Previously, AEA’s agronomic consulting services were only available to customers of its products.

“The familiar model of ag retail is that product sales subsidize consulting, which creates incentives for product sales,” said John Kempf, AEA founder and chief vision officer. “The goal of regenerative agriculture is to reduce the need for inputs over the long-term. We are creating a consulting framework that incentivizes the best possible agronomic recommendations for growers as their need for inputs decreases. We consider it of foundational importance to develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with our growers that prioritize their financial success.”

AEA’s Groundwork services are customized to meet a grower’s crop performance objectives, with a particular focus on ROI and economic performance. Services are based on the data-driven approach that has been the foundation of AEA’s success. This approach evaluates soil mineral and biological profiles, crop disease and insect challenges, crop nutrient absorption, the plant’s nutritional integrity, and phenological plant expression. Data and field observations are then translated to a set of recommendations that may include cultural management practices, cover crops, soil amendments, microbial inoculants, data collection practices, and crop nutrition management.

Alexandre Family Farm in Crescent City, Calif. recently tapped AEA's agronomy service team to meet specific goals for their operations.

Alexandre is the nation’s first certified-regenerative farm with grass-pastured organic A2/A2 milk. They are working with AEA to more quickly improve the soil quality of their hay ranches and recently acquired farmland.

“We are clearly aware of the principles of regenerative agriculture and working in harmony with God’s plan for soil and plant growth,” said Blake Alexandre, a fourth-generation dairy farmer. “We also see value in working with AEA for additional knowledge, fresh thinking, and their well-recognized regenerative agronomic expertise. Not only does AEA share our values of stewarding the land, but we also trust that our work together will help us more quickly improve all our land.”
