UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / November 10, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Donald Lee Rogers for his achievements in technology, writing and the preservation of American trail history. Mr. Rogers is recognized for his 50-year career in computer programming and creative arts, as well as his ongoing work to maintain and protect the legacy of the Pacific Crest Trail established by his father, Warren Lee Rogers.

About Donald Lee Rogers
Mr. Rogers has built a distinguished career that bridges technology, literature and heritage preservation. Since 2020, he has served as a freelance screenwriter and author, developing original works inspired by his Christian faith and lifelong interest in storytelling. His current project, Barbaccus Johnson, has evolved into a planned six-part series of novels and films centered on redemption and spiritual renewal. As an ordained Christian minister, he combines faith and creativity to support outreach efforts and raise funds for charitable causes.
In addition to his creative work, Mr. Rogers has served as a consultant and data engineer for the Automobile Club of Southern California since 2003. Over the course of his 22-year tenure with the organization, he has contributed to vital projects, including helping address the Y2K challenge. His technical career began as an IBM mainframe operator before progressing to programmer trainee, programmer and senior programmer. He later became a manager at Tokai Bank of California but returned to technical programming to focus on direct, hands-on problem solving.
Beyond his professional work in computing, Mr. Rogers has dedicated much of his life to advancing his family's connection to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). His father, Warren Lee Rogers, co-founded the trail alongside Clinton C. Clarke, trailblazing much of its original route between 1935 and 1938. Together, the two men helped shape what is now one of America's most celebrated national trails, stretching from Mexico to Canada. Mr. Rogers continues to maintain the trail and correct historical inaccuracies surrounding its early development. His website, pct-nst.com, serves as a digital archive honoring the vision and 60 years of work by his father and Clarke. The site features a U.S. Forest Service plaque commemorating their contributions and includes rare photos and documents from his family's archives.
Among the many recognitions tied to Mr. Rogers' family's work, the County of Los Angeles issued a National Trails Day declaration in 1997, commending Warren L. Rogers for his leadership and dedication to the creation of the Pacific Crest Scenic Trail. The late President George H. W. Bush also honored him with a personal letter following the Walker Pass Trailhead dedication in 1991. Mr. Rogers continues to uphold this family legacy by preserving the trail's history through documentation, restoration and advocacy.
A Commitment to Faith and Family
Outside of his professional and creative pursuits, Mr. Rogers draws his greatest strength from his faith and family. Guided by his belief in Jesus Christ, he strives to set an example of perseverance and kindness. He cherishes his wife, Nancy, their three children and two grandchildren, and he prays daily for his extended family. His family heritage also includes connections to historical figures such as Oliver Wolcott, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and the Stetson family, renowned for their contributions to American culture and craftsmanship.
Looking ahead, Mr. Rogers plans to complete his final years in programming, publish his written works and continue strengthening the legacy of the Pacific Crest Trail. His father's words remain a guiding inspiration: "May your Pacific Crest adventures be greater than your dreams." Through his faith, creativity and unwavering dedication, Mr. Rogers carries that vision forward for future generations.
