GERMANTOWN, MD / ACCESSWIRE / June 10, 2024 / For Angela Inez writing has always been her first love and the acting ‘bug' stung her along the way. Landing her first role in "The Wire", where she played an undercover cop in the final season. She took acting lessons and gained a vast understanding and appreciation for other actors. She receives much joy when she sees actors breathe life into the characters & scripts she writes. Her love of acting has truly enriched her writing capabilities tremendously. Her creative process for building characters is organic, meaning that she thinks about each character, their roles, etc…for months before she puts a pen to the paper. Her process to match the actors with the characters is very simple. She talks to the actors and gets a keen sense of who they are, whether it's their voice, demeanor, or their individual character makeup and takes it from there.
Angela Inez ventured into the audio drama podcast world for good reasons. One was to inexpensively gain control of the production crew while making sure her works reached the right audience demographically. Lastly and most importantly, it achieved the same effect as a featured film without financial burdens attached. She feels the audio drama podcast industry is an untapped industry that will skyrocket in the near future and she will be at the forefront of it.
Her upcoming audio drama is called "Where Loyalties...Lie" which is debuting in the Fall of 2024. FYI, a small part of "Where Loyalties...Lie" is loosely based on her real life experiences. Her favorite character in the show is the "Lomaxx" character because he seeks redemption. He's naturally a bad boy who's always getting in & out of trouble. She feels flawed characters can make the biggest impact when they decide to turn their life around. When asked what do you want the audience that's listening to get from your audio podcasts? She explained she wants them to be engaged, entertained and fully relate to her characters in the podcast. She definitely wants them to have a hunger to be fed more of her content.
To see Angela in front of a camera again will only be to accept her NAACP Image Awards, her BET Awards and other red carpet events where she'll be interviewed. She is content with being behind the scenes writing and producing her audio drama podcasts. In 2022 Angela was accepted into the Writers Guild Fellowship where she wrote and developed a supernatural drama television pilot. She's currently working on a historical fiction/sci-fi drama & also has several projects nearing their completions. Angela's sound advice for upcoming writers venturing into her niche is to have fun and enjoy the entire process from beginning to end.
