ITEM 8.01 Other Events
On June 25, 2008, trustees for the Southern Missouri Bancorp, Inc. Employee Stock Ownership Plan ("the ESOP") approved the purchase of up to approximately $100,000 of Southern Missouri's common stock, in order to utilize existing cash in the plan that has accumulated through the payment of cash dividends. ESOP trustees were given discretion to determine the number and pricing of the shares to be purchased, as well as the timing of any such purchase. The ESOP intends to purchase the shares at prevailing market prices in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions, subject to availability and general market conditions. Pursuant to the requirements of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the registrant has duly caused this report to be signed on its behalf by the undersigned hereunto duly authorized.
