By: PRLog

New Indie and Self-published Authors who share life lessons through storytelling are encouraged to apply to the new manuscript contest opening April 1, 2023. The winner will be offered a publishing contract through I Have Something to Say Press.

AUSTIN, Texas - April 6, 2023 - PRLog -- I Have Something to Say Press, parent company of Reader Views, announces their new manuscript contest launched on April 1, 2023. The contest is open to all indie authors, regardless of residency, provided their manuscript is written in the English language and targeted toward the North American reading audience.

Categories include adult fiction in the following genres: general fiction/novel, fantasy, historical fiction, poetry, romance, science fiction, mystery/thriller, and short story collections.

Non-fiction categories include memoirs, self-help, spirituality, and travel. Children categories include Middle Grade, Teen, and YA fiction and non-fiction(chapter books and novels only; sorry no picture books).

Judging criteria are content/originality, presentation/design, innovation, social relevance, enjoyment/impact, plot/story line, and resourcefulness and marketing value. All authors who enter the contest will have their manuscript read and scored at no cost to submit. For those who wish to receive a manuscript critique from judges, there is a $35.00 fee due with submission. A manuscript critique will be sent to the submitter as soon the manuscript is read.

"Our goal is to help writers who are committed to their craft to share their life lessons through storytelling by publishing their work, and give them the tools to promote their work," says Susan Violante, Managing Editor of I Have Something To Say Press. "This contest is a labor of love for the craft so, there is no entry fee to participants, however there is an option to receive a critique for a nominal fee."

"In a time where zillions of books are published through the internet, it is crucial that authors are willing to take charge of promoting themselves and their work. Without that commitment, all other efforts to publish a high-quality book and a marketing campaign will not result in sales. Our goal is to publish a first class, top quality book, and help the winning author build their platform by providing  in house marketing campaigns, as well as a marketing guide for continuing success." Said Susan Violante, Managing Editor for I Have Something to say Press.
