Dr. Tyrha Lindsey-Warren Of Baylor University Receives The 2022 "ATHENA Leadership Award®" Presented By The Greater Waco Chamber Of Commerce

Award-Winning Communications Executive and Published Marketing Scholar Is Recognized For Her Outstanding Leadership in the Waco Community and Beyond

WACO, Texas - Dec. 8, 2022 - PRLog -- Yesterday, Dr. Tyrha M. Lindsey-Warren, Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing and the Director of Industry Relations and Experiential Learning at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University, was announced the Recipient of the 2022 ATHENA Leadership Award®. This honor was presented by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce's annual Leading Waco Women program at the Waco Convention Center before an audience of over 250 guests. Dr. Lindsey-Warren was chosen from the 32 women who were nominated for this year's award.

"It is a tremendous honor to receive the 2022 ATHENA Leadership Award® and to be in the company of all of the dynamic women who were nominated this year," states Dr. Tyrha Lindsey-Warren. "Empowering women and giving back to my community in innovative ways is at the core of who I am. Many thanks to the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and its Leading Waco Women program for recognizing my passions as well as my professional career accomplishments."

Founded by Martha Mayhood Mertz in 1982, the ATHENA International organization honors women leaders and brings balance to leadership voices worldwide. ATHENA International presents the ATHENA Leadership Award® program, which enables chambers of commerce, women's organizations, and universities the opportunity to honor a woman or a man who demonstrates the qualities embodied in the ATHENA Leadership Model as well as who has achieved the highest level of professional excellence. Almost 8,000 leaders have been recognized with the ATHENA Leadership Award® in 500+ regions representing 48 states and 11 countries including the USA, Bermuda, UK, China, Canada, Greece, India, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Ghana, and Mexico.

The Leading Waco Women Summit Series was created to celebrate, empower, and develop female leaders in the Waco community. The annual series provides professional development opportunities through half-day conferences, keynote speakers, panel discussions and networking. Each summit in the Leading Waco Women Series is focused on the three components of leadership: serving, empowering, and mentoring. The Greater Waco Chamber celebrated the inaugural Leading Waco Women Summit in November 2018 with the presentation of Waco's first-ever ATHENA Leadership Award®.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Tyrha Lindsey-Warren has over twenty years of experience working in marketing and communications in Corporate America, entertainment, advertising, and non-profit arenas for such firms as Quincy Jones*David Salzman Entertainment, NBC, Creative Artists Agency, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the United States Tennis Association, the National Speaking of Women's Health Foundation, and UniWorld Group. Dr. Lindsey-Warren is also the Founder and Lead Producer of the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival and its sister film festivals that include the Florida Family & Faith International Film Festival and the Nigeria Family & Faith International Film Festival. She received her Bachelor of Science in Radio/TV/Film and a Certificate in Musical Theater from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a concentration in Marketing, from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. Her Ph.D. in Marketing is from Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

As a published Consumer Behavior Scholar, Dr. Lindsey-Warren's research streams are rooted in "empowered storytelling," "health edu-tainment," Advertising and Media, and the business of Hollywood. Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of Cultural and Marketing Strategy, Advertising Society Quarterly, the Journal of Academic Marketing Education, and in the book, "Entertainment Values," published by Palgrave UK.

She speaks nationally on the topics of diversity, equity and inclusion from a creative marketing lens, multicultural marketing, effective communications, and multicultural fundraising. She has done so for Americans for the Arts, Broward County (FL) for the Arts and The Junior League, to name a few.

Dr. Lindsey-Warren has also received numerous awards including the American Marketing Association's (AMA) Valuing Diversity PhD Scholarship as well as recognized as an AMA Sheth Consortium Fellow. She has been honored by The Network Journal magazine's 40 Under Forty, the YWCA of White Plains New York People To Watch honor, and The Cincinnati Herald newspaper's Nefertiti Award, to name a few.

Her volunteer board affiliations include serving as the current President of the Marketing Ethnic Faculty Association (MEFA), an Academic Advisory Council Member for SeeHER, a program of the Association of National Advertisers, Board Member for the Waco Symphony Association, and Art Center Waco. She has also worked with the New York Chapters of the Coalition of 100 Black Women and Women in Communications as well as serves as a Member of the Waco Central Texas Chapter of The LINKS, Inc., and is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Additionally, Dr. Lindsey-Warren is a professional jazz singer who has opened for the likes of GRAMMY award winners Jonathan Butler, Kirk Whalum, Pieces of a Dream and has performed at the Blue Note music clubs in Japan, the Sugar Bar in New York City, the New Brunswick Jazz Project, and the Norwalk Jazz Festival.

Dr. Lindsey-Warren is married to Sidney L. Warren, a successful restaurant entrepreneur.
