Remote working consultancy wins public sector and healthcare transformation projects.

    London, United Kingdom Jan 27, 2021 (Issuewire.com) -
  • The aim has been to improve remote working and efficiency across the public sector.
  • Projects have also helped administer the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and improve operational processes.
  • Projects are proof that public sector digital transformation doesn't have to cost billions.

Digital transformation consultancy Generation Digital has massively impacted public sector organisations during the pandemic. With an impressive client list, including UKRI, Public Health Wales, and sections of the NHS, the digital specialists have provided critical digital solutions during a disruptive 2020.

One key area for Generation Digital has been to assist the healthcare sector in building quick, cost-effective systems and digital processes for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

Thanks to Generation Digital's inclusion on the government's G-Cloud 12 Framework, projects have been able to move at speed. The G-Cloud framework is an agreement between the government and suppliers who provide cloud-based services, making it easier to procure digital services.

Graham Mackay, Managing Director of Generation Digital, has explained how the public sector has adapted to rapid digital transformation:

"Contrary to popular belief, the public sector doesn't always need to spend billions on implementing bespoke digital systems. As specialists in digital transformation, we know that speed and cost are essential. That's why we work with leading cloud platforms and build winning strategies and best in class infrastructure to quickly and safely roll out transformation projects starting with a Minimum Viable Product and then building on learnings and success. These projects catapult traditional organisations and public bodies into the heart of the connected world. We put them right where they should be in 2021.

"We've seen a massive shift in the public sector to work management platforms, such as Asana, which help manage employees working in remote environments. These platforms also align work to organisational goals which are essential for employees to see and work towards."

Graham also explained how Generation Digital acts as a conduit in a growing number of remote working projects in the public sector:

"Today, large corporations and public sector bodies have no excuse to be working in isolated silos and should see forced remote working as an opportunity to evolve. The technology exists to make a rapid change, but the know-how and implementation in the public sector could be better. That's where we come in. We deliver transformation projects with the experience of corporate worlds and working knowledge of regulations around data and cloud security.

"Whether we're keeping employees connected with Workplace from Facebook, managing workloads through Asana, enabling global conferences with Zoom or protecting organisations from data loss through Netskope, we create strategies and solutions that make remote work cost-effective, productive and efficient."

Generation Digital

Generation Digital believe in digital being at the heart of smarter, safer and better-connected workplaces. Generation Digital do this by disrupting businesses for the better, by optimising productivity, deploying cloud security, and improving workforce collaboration.

Founded in 2016, Generation Digital works with leading global brands including; Arrow Global, Colgate, ED&F Man, Heathrow, HSBC, Metropolitan Police, Royal Mail, TOG, Tui Group and United Utilities. The focus for 2021 is to continue providing remote working consultancy to organisation across the public sector and companies within highly regulated industries.

The G-Cloud framework

The G-Cloud framework is an agreement between the UK Government and suppliers who provide cloud-based services.

G-Cloud services fall into three categories, or 'lots':

  • cloud hosting, for example, content delivery networks or load balancing services
  • cloud software, for example, accounting tools or customer service management software
  • cloud support, for example, migration services or ongoing support

Buying services through frameworks is faster and more cost-effective than entering into individual procurement contracts. Buyers and suppliers still need to sign a contract (or 'call-off contract') for each service bought through a framework.
