Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation Launches Search for New CEO

WASHINGTON - January 20, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

The Board of Directors of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, Inc. announced today the launch of a nationwide search for a new President and CEO.

"Over the past several years, Marion Smith has helped to establish VOC as the go-to organization for information and education about the victims of communism, past and present," VOC Chairman Edwin Feulner said. "We wish him the very best as he considers new opportunities."

In its 27-year history, VOC has grown to include the award-winning Witness Project, the National Seminar for Middle and High School Educators, an active bi-partisan Congressional caucus, geographically-focused research on China, Latin America, and Europe, and educational and policy outreach at the national, state, and local levels. VOC also awards the prestigious Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to freedom and democracy and opposition to communism.

"The Foundation now looks forward to the dedication of its crown jewel—the Victims of Communism Museum—later this year," said Feulner.

Due to the resignation of Smith, VOC has begun a national search for a new President and CEO and plans to announce that leadership as soon as possible.

Since its founding in 1994, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation has been committed to memorializing the more than 100 million victims of communism and educating this generation and future generations about the history, ideology, and legacy of communism.
