What Do Electricians Do

Electricians are highly skilled tradespeople who plan, install, maintain, and replace electrical wiring systems. Electrical wiring can be located in a home, a commercial business, a large piece of machinery or equipment, or even in airplanes, ships, or cable lines.

Because electrical wiring varies depending on what it’s being used for, there’s primarily two different types of electricians – linemen, who work on electric utility company distribution at high voltages and wiremen, who work on lower voltage projects inside of homes and other buildings.

Electrician work is a specialized field and requires specific training. Because working with electricity can be dangerous without the proper skills, we ensure all the technicians at Thunderbolt Electric are highly trained and tested on their knowledge of Georgia Electrical Codes before they wire any homes or businesses. Our technicians also receive ongoing training to stay abreast of industry trends, and attend electrical and technology seminars routinely. We only hire the best technicians and they are all bonded, and insured to work in the State of Georgia.

Residential Electrician Job Description

Our residential electrician technicians are highly trained in installing, repairing, maintaining, and replacing wiring and devices in homes, apartments, and commercial buildings. Our experienced technicians are skilled at reading blueprints and working one-on-one with architects, builders, and contractors to plan the layout of electrical systems. They’re also efficient at reading and following technical diagrams, researching and knowing building codes for specific regions, and inspecting or testing existing wiring and electrical equipment to determine whether a repair or replacement is necessary.

Our technicians have worked in a variety of work environments, including indoors, outdoors, and cramped spaces such as attics or crawl spaces. They are trained and experienced at working on complex projects including residential and commercial planning, wiring repair and installation. Our wiremen are skilled at installing and repairing switches, relays, power outlets, appliances, lighting control devices, HVAC, and many more electrical wiring jobs. We routinely work on home electrical wiring and small electrical repairs. Contact us today for any necessary electrician work. No matter how big or small the job, we have you covered.
