Award-Winning Doctor a Trusted Resource for Women Navigating Pandemic Pregnancy

"Rural Doc" Alan Lindemann, M.D. supports women in taking charge of their health and their pregnancies

ELGIN, ND, June 22, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In light of our current COVID-19 reality, pregnant women everywhere are more cautious than ever when it comes to protecting their pandemic pregnancies. Now, there's a doctor women everywhere can rely on to support them in creating the healthy lives and pregnancies they desire: "Rural Doc" Alan Lindemann, M.D., former winner of the Rural Health Care Provider of the Year award and co-author of "Modern Medicine: What You're Dying to Know."

"I have made delivering healthy babies from healthy mothers my mission in life," he says.

Too often, women find that the healthcare they receive comes with unclear communication, too little information about their bodies or conditions, and a lack of a personal relationship with their caregivers. Women's health, bodies, and pregnancies are more likely to suffer without these and other crucial pieces in play…yet most women don't know what questions to ask or which requests to make of their doctors that will make a positive and meaningful impact on their care and their outcomes.

"Too many doctors treat pregnant women like problems, not people," says Dr. Alan. "They don't take the time to listen to your story, hear out your concerns, or thoroughly answer your questions. They don't know how to work with nature, so they're too quick to induce labor or order a cesarean section, both of which carry significant risks."

In his nearly four decades as an obstetric physician, Dr. Alan has delivered more than 6,000 babies — with a maternal mortality rate of ZERO! Still active, he now focuses his practice on maternal health and wellness, offering tips and insights for women before, during, and after pregnancy. He even has a video course to help pregnant women navigate this taboo subject: reducing maternal mortality.

Dr. Alan's goal is to reach women everywhere who might otherwise have no access to this information. He is inspiring women to learn to steer their own pregnancies and deliveries, as well as their long-term overall health.

"Medicine is very political," he says. "Everything today is touted as 'evidence-based,' but research is always biased in some way. For that reason, patients will only hear about how closely their obstetrician follows research studies, as opposed to what they've actually learned from practice — which is considered anecdotal and unreliable. Ultimately, obstetricians make decisions for their patients without consulting them. I want to provide women with the information they need to take part in these decisions and take charge of their health and pregnancies."

About Dr. Alan: Obstetrician and maternal mortality expert Dr. Alan Lindemann has made it his mission in life to see healthy babies delivered from healthy mothers. He teaches women and their families how to create the outcomes they want for their own personal health and pregnancy.

Dr. Alan is the co-author of "Modern Medicine: What You're Dying to Know," a consumer action guide about how to navigate the United States healthcare system. In his nearly 40 years of practice, he has delivered around 6,000 babies and achieved a maternal mortality rate of zero!

He earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota in 1977. He is boarded by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Medical Association.

Fondly known as the "Rural Doc," his favorite hobbies are washing his vintage Cadillacs and tending to his pet chickens. He practices medicine and lives with his wife and co-author Diane Haugen in Elgin, North Dakota. Learn more at LindemannMD.com.
