Fort Worth Design District Wishes Dads Happy Father's Day

Four Creative Gift Ideas for Dad from Businesses in FWDD

FORT WORTH, TX, June 16, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A day to commemorate fathers began a long way from Texas. It was the brainchild of Senora Smart Dodd and was first celebrated at the YMCA in Spokane Washington in 1910. Devoted daughter that she was, Senora wanted Father's Day to be celebrated on her father's birthday, but church leaders in Spokane opted instead for the third Sunday in June.

One hundred and ten years after the tradition started, Fort Worth Design District wants to wish all of America's dads a very Happy Father's Day.

"If you haven't shopped for dear old dad, you are running out of time," said Fort Worth Design District Administrator Jennifer Knittel. "Fortunately, a few of the businesses in the district can help you find something unique that dad will love," added Knittel.
