Red Light Lit teaming with Light Rail Station to Livestream Readings with Popular Authors, Musicians

The popular reading series will livestream a series of readings with poets, authors and musicians playing together at safe social distances

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 01, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The popular reading series Red Light Lit is teaming up with the live streaming service Light Rail Station next month to produce a series of readings for those stuck at home during the coronavirus lockdown.

Red Light Lit will host five shows next month featuring their favorite writers and musicians, all performing at socially-safe distances. Each performance will be captured and streamed to Facebook from Light Rail Station's studios.

"It's great that we can continue to connect during the quarantine," Red Light Lit founder Jennifer Lewis said. "I'm glad we found a safe way to collaborate with our artists and viewers until we can return to having live shows."

The first show, on June 6, features musician and author, Nick Jaina, who will be reading from his debut novel, Hitomi. The other shows will feature poet and activist, Thea Matthews, who will be performing poems from her debut collection, Unearth [The Flowers], which will be released on June 20th (Red Light Lit Press); writers Peter Bullen, Kar Johnson, Loria Mendoza, and Mackenzie Studebaker; musicians Christopher Danzig, Zelma Stone (Chloe Studebaker), and David Williams; the shows will be hosted by Lewis and comedian Luna Malbroux.

"These shows are a great way to support writers and musicians who are directly affected by the quarantine," Lewis said.

Viewers will not only be able to watch the shows from their homes, they'll be able to interact with the performers. Host Lewis will take questions from the Facebook comments to ask the performers.

"We are excited to collaborate with Light Rail because of their high quality sound and visual experience," Lewis said.

Red Light Lit is a small press and performance series founded in San Francisco in 2013 and has since produced over 100 shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland and others. Red Light Lit has published 9 literary journals, the poetry anthology Love Is The Drug & Other Dark Poems, and on June 20th, it will publish Thea Matthews's highly anticipated debut poetry collection, Unearth [The Flowers].
