LOS ANGELES - May 19, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Ariento Inc., an IT, cybersecurity and compliance service provider to small and mid-sized organizations, announced today that developer of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Standard Dawn Greenman will speak at the annual Up On Cyber Conference on Thursday, June 25.

CMMC is a new cyber compliance standard that will be required for contractors by the Department of Defense (DoD). It is expected to take effect later this year.

As a developer of the CMMC standard, Dawn will provide an overview of what CMMC is, why it is necessary, what it is replacing, and how the standard came to fruition.

Additional speakers include members of the development team, tasked by the Department of Defense to create the CMMC standard as well as the DoD itself.

This year’s Up On Cyber conference will be held virtually and will focus exclusively on the recently released CMMC cyber standard. “We wanted to provide a comprehensive look at CMMC and, therefore, built a speaker lineup that represents each stakeholder,” said Ariento’s Jennifer Fullerton.

Dawn M. Greenman is Deputy Program Manager Cybersecurity for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). In this position, she oversees cybersecurity projects across the organization and assists in the oversight of JHU/APL’s cyber operations, security engineering, and IT compliance functions. Over the past 25 years, Ms. Greenman has held positions of increasing responsibility in information technology and cybersecurity, working for companies small to large. In 2017, Dawn lead JHU/APL to compliance with DFARS 7012 and NIST SP 800-171. Dawn served as the Outreach Lead for the DoD Office of Sustainment and Acquisition’s CMMC project. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model, developed by JHU/APL and SEI/CERT, delivered DoD a new common standard in cybersecurity in January 2020. Ms. Greenman holds an undergraduate degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Homeland Security and an Executive Masters of Business Administration from The University of Maryland Robert H.
