Heroes of COVID-19: Which Business Ranks #1?

You've read the headlines about businesses going above and beyond; now YOU can vote.

BOONE, N.C. - April 16, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Online consensus voting site Rhubarb has announced its initial nominees for Business Heroes of COVID-19.

“This is an amazing time. Businesses of all sizes, in all corners of the world, are rising above profits to serve the public and create lasting legacies,” says Mark Deuitch, founder of Rhubarb. “They’re also setting new standards for how to take care of employees.”

Nominated businesses—small and large—have made extraordinary efforts to help the public, their employees, healthcare workers, and others in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. These are the companies people are proud to work for or support.

“Most get no recognition beyond the local press,” says Deuitch. “Now it’s time for the public to vote on which businesses, anywhere, have done most. And they can also nominate those that haven’t been recognized yet.”

How to participate

Members of the public are invited to vote for, or nominate, their favorite Hero Businesses here. As a bonus, voters are eligible to earn RHU cryptocurrency tokens that can be used to launch their own consensus polls on Rhubarb.

Companies nominated by Rhubarb members include:

JOANN Fabrics, which mobilized crafters to make masks for healthcare workers, and donated supplies.

Bad Saint Restaurant in DC, which gives all proceeds from gift certificates to its employees.

REI Co-op, which closed all its stores March 16 but continues to pay employees.

Abbott Labs, which created a five-minute COVID-19 test.

Lexington Brewing and Distilling, which is using its resources to make free hand sanitizer.

Lunar NYC, a non-profit that empowers youth, which is sourcing PPE for front-line workers.

Google and Apple, which have launched a contact tracing system to help stop the spread of the virus.

Uber, which is donating 10 million rides and good deliveries to healthcare workers, seniors and those in need.
