Farmwave Partners With Agrivision Equipment Group and Johnson Tractor for 2020 Harvest Vision Device

AI for Agriculture Hits the Field for Harvest 2020

ATLANTA - March 24, 2020 - (Newswire.com)

Farmwave, a leader in developing practical applications of AI for agriculture, today announces its partnership with Agrivision Equipment Group and Johnson Tractor as the first two dealerships in North America to bring Farmwave to their customers. Farmwave technology enhances any combine harvester with intelligent harvest loss detection technology- the first of its kind to pioneer true AI, machine learning, and deep learning in agriculture hardware.

Growers - from smallholders to large commercial operators - will not only know what is being lost during the critical harvest season but also take action right from the field.

“Hardware that’s able to track the actual loss out of my combine would be a game-changer. Today’s approach is less than scientific: I run the combine, view any loss, guess if it’s acceptable, and repeat. Farmwave quantifies loss and alerts me as changes happen. In today‘s low-margin environment, every bushel counts. With Farmwave, I feel more confident knowing I got every bushel out there,” said Jake Smoker of G&D Smoker Farms, a pilot project partner.

Farmwave’s trials in the American Midwest during Q4 2019 and in Brazil in Q1 2020 yielded results in mere minutes. Farmwave Harvest Vision technology counts kernels of corn and soy lost from the header, inside the cleaning area, and behind the machine - all while giving growers a total loss estimate viewable on a connected phone or tablet. It runs a count every five seconds, or 144 times per acre, displaying the average bushels per acre being lost and the location of loss on the machinery - all in real-time.

In the near future, Harvest Vision will provide recommendations for minimizing loss based on data analysis over time - a capability interested OEM machinery companies are pursuing.

“We’re a small tech company, so our dealer partners will help provide the high-touch service needed to help growers integrate our high-tech gear,” commented Nick Palczynski, Farmwave’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.

Currently, Farmwave plans to make approximately 250 units available for 2020 and expects to have them ready for deployment by the end of Q3 2020.
