BMW Malaysia has promoted a new variant to the G20 BMW 3 Series 2020 lineup - the 320i. Once more, we're putting these two variants against each other, the 320i against C200.

The biggest differences between these two cars is the powertrain. The 320i is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 184 PS and 300 Nm, the C200 has a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder equipped with a 48-volt starter generator, making it a mild hybrid, which puts out an identical power of 184 PS but a lower torque of 280 Nm.

As for exterior wise, the 320i wears Sport Line trim while the C200 sports Avantgarde trim. Both two variants are on 18-inch wheels and both have LED headlamps, but the ones on the 320i are adaptive.

Interior design, both two are equipped with keyless entry with push start button and tri-zone automatic climate control. In the 320i currently, there's only one 8.8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay. By contrast, the C200 has a 10.25-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The C200 possesses a higher speaker count with 9 speakers while there are only 6 speakers on the 320i. When it comes to the instrument display, the C200 has a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display whereas analogue gauges make a return to the 320i, although there's a 5.7-inch display blending in with the gauges.

Front seats of the C200 have memory function while it is available only for the driver seat in the 320i. The C200 one ups the 320i again by having seven airbags instead of six, with a knee airbag, although the 320i has wireless charging.

Active safety feature is one of the most important parts of a car, the C200 has Blind Spot Assist and Pre-Safe System, which includes autonomous emergency braking. However, the 320i doesn't have any form of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), which will be an obvious disadvantage of this variant.

Although the C200 is more expensive at RM 259,888, it has better specifications than the 320i whose price is RM 243,800. But to purchase the best car which suits customers most, do check out different cars in person. Moreover, just drive them to know how they feel before making payment. The emotional response of testing the car will give the answer and help make the choice.
