Smart Alec Tutoring Expands to Launch Concierge and Special Education Services

Smart Alec, New York City's top on-demand tutoring platform, has expanded its offerings to provide concierge service for parents, as well as support for Special Education students, all using a 24/7 hassle-free text service.

Families will also easily be able to access educators with specialized training in IEPs and therapeutic services.

Kayla Abderholden has been named the new CEO of Smart Alec and Kobi Ben Meir has been named the company’s new Director of Brand Marketing. 

Kayla is a distinguished educator, having taught in New York City schools for years, where she received achievement awards, such as the Public Prep Founder’s Award and scholarships. With a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University and a Master’s in Education from Hunter College, she is trained in literacy instruction, educational technology, and special education. Previously, she worked in non-profit management and education development for BTTF. Kayla brings her field experience to her work at Smart Alec, where she enjoys connecting students with passionate, life-changing educators.  

Kobi is an award-winning marketing, branding, business development professional. Smart Alec’s new concierge service will offer parents an unparalleled level of service, including an initial consultation with a certified teacher, a 24/7 texting line, scheduling and booking, and backup tutors. Lessons are offered online or in-person, with hundreds of highly vetted tutors.
