CHICAGO - November 5, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

The International Association of Women (IAW) recognizes Karin Klock as a 2019-2020 Influencer. She is acknowledged as a leader in entrepreneurship. The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online networking platform with more than 100 local chapters, International Chapters in several cities in China and 1000+ in-person and virtual events.

“I’m pleased to welcome Karin into this exceptional group of professional women,” said IPDN President and IAW Spokesperson Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”

An entrepreneur who has enjoyed a highly successful career, Karin Klock came to the realization that other women entrepreneurs around the world were struggling when it came to getting the word out about their own businesses and services. She became determined to do something to help these women.

“After gaining visibility into the economic hardships of women entrepreneurs, it was glaringly obvious that economic empowerment is the key to women being able to improve their lives and those of their families,” Ms. Klock said. “Having a free directory where you can find these women-owned businesses would be an easy way for conscientious consumers and socially responsible businesses to support them.”

Just under a year ago, Ms. Klock founded www.womenownedbiz.org, a free, comprehensive directory where women entrepreneurs around the world can connect with, support and empower one another.

“As Founder and CEO, my key responsibilities center around community outreach to grow this network, and build and promote women-owned businesses,” said Ms. Klock, who is self-funding this social purpose business. “I am very passionate about supporting and embracing all demographics. I respect and empathize and therefore want to support these women. I am transparent in my communications and interactions and have a sincere desire to make the world a better place through commitment and diligence to this project.”

Ms. Klock said one of the most rewarding aspects of this new endeavor is having the opportunity to meet these women and hear their amazing stories. “I am continually inspired by the great work they are doing,” she added. Ms. Klock does admit it can be challenging to find enough time to get the word out through individual, group and social media outreach but she is determined to do all she can to help other women entrepreneurs find success.

Among her future goals, Ms. Klock hopes to connect with more underrepresented communities and women's organizations to help further this outreach. “I also want to build a large member platform to then promote these businesses to socially responsible companies and corporations and, eventually, I will be looking to generate grant money or revenue to provide micro-loans, monetary and business assistance to women needing support.”

Education & Accomplishments: Bachelor of Arts, Syracuse University, Chemistry; MIT Professional Certification in Environmental Fate & Effects, and Sustainability; Cornell Diversity & Inclusion certificate program (in process); Corporate Social Responsibility and Verite Certified Lead Auditor, CHMM, ASP
