Carpenter Technology Forms Science and Technology Committee of the Board of Directors

Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE:CRS) announced today the formation of a Science and Technology Committee of the Board of Directors. The creation of this committee is a key component in driving Carpenters enhanced commitment to growth and operational excellence through technology, innovation and process improvement.

Carpenters products are highly sophisticated and are used in many critical applications. The formation of the Science and Technology committee helps to ensure that Carpenter remains at the forefront of product and process innovation, stated Dr. Sunil Widge, Sr. Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Carpenter Technology.

Chairing the Science and Technology committee will be Carpenter Technology Board Member Dr. Jeffrey Wadsworth, Executive Vice President for Global Laboratory Operations, Battelle Memorial Institute. Other committee Board members will include Dr. Philip M. Anderson, Professor of Physics - School of Theoretical and Applied Science, Ramapo College of New Jersey and Anne L. Stevens, Chairman, President and CEO of Carpenter Technology. The establishment of the new committee was approved by the Board of Directors earlier this week.
