MDPromptPay Offers New "Team Up" Approach for Medical Bill Negotiations

By: PRLog
MDPromptPay, LLC, has announced that MDPromptPay.com has expanded its medical expense negotiation business to include a new revolutionary ‘Team Up’ negotiating option.

PRLog - May 08, 2013 - FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- In the medical industry, it is commonplace for medical providers to negotiate payment discounts off billed charges with insurance companies in exchange for more patient volume. Well, MDPromptPay takes that same approach, but with the consumer in mind.

When a consumer engages and authorizes MDPromptPay to negotiate a Team Up discount for them, their unpaid medical bills are bundled with other consumer’s medical bills for the same medical provider which are then negotiated in mass. Once a prompt payment discount amount has been reached, 100 percent of the savings is passed along to all consumers within the bundle.

“Everyone knows there is strength in numbers,” said Richard Profusek, President and CEO of MDPromptPay, LLC. “While employing the technical efficiencies built into our system and using years of industry knowledge we can leverage the provider negotiation by placing more volume and higher dollars on the table.“

In the event that a Team Up negotiation is not resolved promptly or adequately, all is not lost. MDPromptPay uses a cumulative approach to capture newly entered bills on a daily basis. Its ability to bundle the newly entered bills with existing bills and to send a fresh listing to the provider for additional rounds of spirited negotiations is key.

“Overtime, as more people Team Up and the amount owed to a particular provider increases, the providers will clearly see that this is a new and efficient way of doing business,” Profusek said.

Additionally, consumers will continue to have the option to choose the one-on-one negotiation approach offered by MDPromptPay.com. With one-on-one negotiations, consumer’s bills are not bundled and the negotiation takes place on an individual basis.

The difference between the two negotiation options is the processing fee methodology charged to negotiate the discount. “We believe that simple, reasonable and up-front pricing is the best approach,” Profusek said. “We set a flat rate for both. But, since the Team Up approach is more efficient and less costly to negotiate, we charge a lower up-front fee.”

A new Team Up introductory offer of $9.99 for each bill to be negotiated is now available.
