Brandon, MB, 16 Oct 2021, ZEXPRWIRE, QuickBooks customers and UK small and medium-sized businesses can make an internationally recognised climate commitment through the SME climate Hub and gain access to tools and resources to support them on their journey to net zero, Intuit announced recently.
This plan was adopted as a commitment to help some 30,000 small businesses in the U.K. make a pledge to take climate action ahead of this year’s global conference on climate, COP26 in November. Collaborating with Intuit QuickBooks gives business owners the chance to join organizations around the world in the fight against climate change. Across the UK, these companies will be encouraged to halve their carbon emissions by 2030, aiming for net zero emissions by 2050.
“By embracing sustainability, small businesses will play a critical role in building a better and more climate-positive future,” he said. Chris Evans, Vice President and Country Manager UK at Intuit QuickBooks. “By providing them with practical guidance and resources, we are delighted that QuickBooks can play an active role in providing these small businesses with tools to enhance their climate credentials and prosper as we look to the future,” he added.
Earlier this year, Intuit announced its first partnership to empower QuickBooks Online customers in the UK to transition to renewable energy as part of its 2030 climate positive goal by teaming up UK’s energy provider Octopus Energy to provide energy solutions including solar, wind and water to its employees and customers. This platform encourages employees and QuickBooks customers in the UK to sign up with Octopus Energy’s affiliate links and receive energy credits toward their utility bills. This incentive also allows participants to receive additional energy credits through Octopus’ referral program.
